Torrey Pines Environmental is seeking Tulare/ Kern County Field Biologists

Application Deadline: Ongoing

Job Type: Part-time variable. Minimum availability desired is 2 days per week. Work assignments will be sporadic in the winter season and increase starting around February.

Wages: $25 to $35 per hour DOE

 

Qualifications:

Must have a minimum of 1 year of field experience including ability to identify native birds. Experience may include biological field surveys or volunteer activities. 

 

A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is preferred, but will also consider candidates with an unrelated or no degree and 5 or more years of relevant experience

 

The following experience is also highly desirable: biological monitoring for construction projects, wildlife and botanical surveys, nesting bird surveys, and habitat assessments. Candidates must be motivated, have strong communication skills and be able to work effectively as part of a group or individually. Ideal candidates should possess a diverse background and understanding of southern California wildlife and plant communities. 

 

Locations: Tulare/Eastern Kern County (staff are typically assigned field locations within 75 miles of their home base)
